The best time to visit Yosemite National Park is during the spring. This is the time when the flowers are blooming. The waterfalls are at their maximum. And it not crowded, during the week.

The best time to visit Yosemite is late April – mid-October. This time the richest among the seasonal options. Be it hiking, rock climbing, rafting, or stargazing. Nature is 100% gorgeous. All you have to do is open up to absorb all this dazzling beauty.

In the fall or spring, hands down. In general, it best to visit places during the shoulder season. This is a better life/travel rule. Summer is not the best time to visit. As the valley is hot and very hot during the day (remember the 90s).

The pros and cons of spring and fall

Spring:

Pros: incredible amount of water in the waterfalls. That are one of the highlights in the valley. Reasonable temperatures; much fewer people than in summer; low prices. Cons: Not really – the weather is a little more unpredictable. But that’s the case when you’re walking in the mountains.

Fall:

Pros: autumn color!; not so crowded; not hot; low prices. Cons: may catch a cold; there may be some snowfall. That may lead to the fact that some tourist routes closed. Or inconvenient. Short days; Half Dome cables don’t work after Columbus day.
