What is the Capital of Cameroon?
Yaounde is the capital and second largest city in Cameroon, with a population of over 2.8 million. The city is located in the south of the country at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level. Most of Yaoundé’s economy is based on the administrative structure of the civil service and diplomatic services, with a higher
standard of living and security than in other Cameroonian cities. The main industries in Yaounde include tobacco, dairy products, and timber. According to Yaounde City Council data, more than 130 floods hit the city between 1980 and 2014, causing loss of life and severe damage to the economy, however, it remains one of the best economies in Central Africa.
