Most densely around the world, Portuguese is spoken in Brazil. True, here only the name says that it is a Portuguese language. In practice, it bears little resemblance to its classical counterpart. More than 200,000,000 people who speak Portuguese live in Brazil, where about 95% of the total population speaks this language.
The Portuguese language was brought to Brazil in the early 16th century. Due to local dialects, the modern version of the Portuguese language in Brazil differs from the classics.
Portuguese is also spoken in Angola. About 19,000,000 inhabitants use the second official language of the state (Portuguese) in their lives. It is especially popular among the younger population. The Portuguese language appeared in this territory after the conquest of the Portuguese colonists.
About 11,000,000 people in Mozambique speak Portuguese. At the same time, in this country, this language is recognized as an official language. By the way, in this state the language of Portugal appeared in the same way as in Angola, after the conquest of the lands by the Portuguese colonists.
On the territory of a small country in western Africa, in Guinea-Bissau, the local population uses the Portuguese language, which they inherited from the time the Portuguese conquered these places (from the beginning of the 15th century). Despite the fact that the country is home to about 1.7 million people, only 194,000 inhabitants speak their official language, namely Portuguese.
The rest use local dialects and dialects that have remained since the 15th century and have not been lost under the influence of the Portuguese language.
