regional train

I advise only the most adventurous and experienced travelers to get to Florence by public transport because of the high risks of being late for the departure of the cruise ship. Strikes, delays and cancellations of regional trains in Italy are the norm. If suddenly you still decide to take a chance, then here is the logistics:

Near the port, you need to find the Grande 2 Porto Mediceo bus stop and take the LAM BLU bus to the Livorno Centrale station. Drive 9 stops, 11 minutes. The bus runs every 7-15 minutes. The official website with the schedule is here www.livorno.cttnord.it

At the station, you need to take the regional train, which in about 1 hour and 8 minutes should take you to the central station of Florence, Santa Maria Novella (S. Maria Novella).

If you suddenly missed the train, then the next one should be in an hour. The ticket costs 9.90 euros.
