Subaie Heritage House

Al-Subaie Heritage Palace in the historic center of Shaqra is one of the most prominent heritage landmarks in Shaqra Governorate, especially after the completion of the restoration and rehabilitation work carried out by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (formerly) for the palace, and its rehabilitation as a museum of the history of Shaqra.

Qasr al-Subaie built in the Andalusian Islamic style. The palace sits on the southwestern corner of the Old City overlooking the old souks.

It built in 1327 AH and the seat of the House of Money during the reign of His Majesty the Founding King (may Allah be pleased with him). The palace was an official residence in that historic period to receive His Majesty King Abdul Aziz as he passed through Shaqra, or when he went to the holy sites to perform the Hajj. The house was a site for equipping armies passing through Shaqra during the unification phase, as well as receiving official delegations.

The House of Al-Subaie consists of 32 rooms, contains ancient historical holdings, restored in 1411 AH, and then completely restored in 1421 AH.
