The airport in Verona (Aeroporto Valerio Catullo) is located 10 km from the city center, and is named after one of the most famous poets of Ancient Rome, Gaia Valerius Catulla. The second name of the airport is Villafranca.
You can get from the airport to the city by bus or taxi. Consider in detail the pros and cons of each method.
By bus
From the airport to Verona Central Station (Verona Porta Nuova) a special bus N199 runs every 20 minutes. The ticket costs 6 euros, travel time is 15 minutes. You can buy a ticket with an open date/time in advance online on Omio – this is very convenient if you do not want to waste time upon arrival.

You can also buy a bus ticket to Verona on arrival without any problems.
Please note that Verona Central Station is 2 kilometers from the historic centre. You may want to consider taking a taxi to get to your hotel faster.
The distance from the station to the Arena di Verona and the historic center is about 2 km. You can walk for 30 minutes, which is not convenient with suitcases, or take city buses N 11, 12, 13, 51, 52. The fare is 1.3 euros, a ticket is bought from a machine at the bus stop and punched at the entrance to the bus.
By taxi
Taxis have special fixed rates for traveling from the airport to the city center. A trip to the station during the day will cost you 26 euros, and to the historic center – 30 euros. In the evenings and weekends, the cost increases by 4 and 5 euros, respectively.

Car Transfer
The transfer price starts from 44 euros. A comfortable business class car will cost 53 euros – this option is suitable for those who would like to receive the maximum service and pay for everything in advance.
